About Studio Lemon

Studio Lemon was founded by Richard and Lexi McShinsky. Lexi is an experienced model and her work can be found at @Lemon_Outfits on Instagram.

They know just how much work can go into organizing, planning, and creating for a photo shoot. So they started Studio Lemon to help other people bring their photo shoot visions to life.

Their experience in the industry means they have worked personally with vendors all over Utah and they know the reputations of photographers, models, and vendors in the area. Where are you located?

We are located at 600 E 2320 N Provo, UT.

Where can I park?

Parking is available at the school parking lot across the street or along Timpview drive. Unfortunately the city recently made it illegal to park on 2320 N st. See the directions link for detailed instructions.

Do you provide lighting?

We do! We have 2 umbrella lights and 2 Neewer strobe lights you can use. There are also 6 large windows for plenty of natural lighting during the day. We also provide a circle reflector.

Which direction to your windows face?

The windows are South and West facing. See the studio page for more information.

How large is the studio?

Studio Lemon is about 500 sq. ft. See our studio page for more information

Can I do a workshop or host an event here?

Absolutely, just make a reservation for the times you want. Contact us directly for special requests like having the space completely cleared out. If you want to hold events on a regular basis at Studio Lemon, contact us for more information.

Do you have any restrictions on the number of photographers/models?

There are no restrictions or extra fees. Due to the size of the studio, there can comfortably fit around 10-12 people inside. Larger groups are not recommended, although there is space for people to wait outside.

Do you have heating/air conditioning?

There is heating and air conditioning available. The air conditioning may take some time to work.

What kinds of shoots are allowed?

Boudoir and horror shoots are not allowed.

Can I bring my own lighting/decor/photgraphers/etc?

Absolutely, there is a garage door for anything large.

What kinds of backdrops are there to use?

We have white and grey 8 ft. by 20 ft. vinyl backdrops. We also have a 10 ft. by 8 ft. curved muslin backdrop. There are a ton of colorful backgrounds for use. See them on the studio page!

Do you offer a place for kids to play?

There is no dedicated space for kids and no babystitting service. There is a fenced in yard area that they are welcome to play in nearby.

Do you allow pets?

We chose vinyl backdrops so you can bring your animal friends. We ask that you clean up thouroughly afterwards in case a shoot following yours has people with allergies. You are responsible for damages caused by them.

Can I use glitter or have clothes with glitter on them?

No glitter is allowed in any form. A cleaning fee will be charged if there is glitter to be cleaned up after the shoot.

Can I have open flames?

Candles, smoking, vaping, smoke bombs, and any open flames are not permitted. If the studio smells of smoke there will be a cleaning fee charged.

Can I hang things on the wall?

Nails, tacks, tape, and similar items are not allowed. There isn’t a blank wall to hang things on in the studio regardless. Please go to the studio page to see the layout. If you have a special request, contact us directly.

Are food and drink allowed?

Food and drink are welcome. No alchoholic beverages. No drugs. We ask that you please clean up when you are finished. Please be respectful of following bookings by avoiding food that will leave smells for a long time. There will be a cleaning fee for stains on furniture.

What if I need to cancel?

You are welcome to cancel and can do so from the confirmation email. If you want to cancel within 3 days of your appointment, contact us directly. Our cancellation policy is as follows. 3+ days before: full refund. 1-3 days before: half refund. Less than 1 day: no refund.

Can I reschedule?

Absolutely! You can manage rescheduling from the confirmation email. If it is within 3 days, you will need to contact us directly. Rescheduling follows our cancellation policy. 3+ days before: no cost. 1-3 days before: half charge. Less than 1 day: full charge for new booking.

When is the latest I can schedule a booking?

If you want to book 1 minute before an open time, you are free to do so.

Covid friendly?

We provide hand sanatizer and masks for those who want them.

Is the studio wheelchair accessible?

Yes, we want all our guests to feel welcome. For those who need it, they are welcome to park closer in the driveway if there is room. Please contact us beforehand to gaurentee open space to park close.

Are there bathrooms?

There are no bathrooms for guests at this time. The closest public ones are around a mile away at Days Market or Walmart.

Will there be someone at the studio to help?

We cannot gaurentee someone to be there, but we are almost always available. We would love to help you out, please contact us directly.

What is the minimum booking time?

The minimum booking time is 1 hour.

Can I book 1.5 hours?

That isn’t currently an option. Send us a message if you would like to see this implemented.

What if I need more time than I booked?

Please use our website to check if there is another booking scheduled after your shoot. If not, reserve the time to continue to use Studio Lemon.

What if my client is late?

We cannot adjust the bookings of following appointments to accommodate. If there is an open time available after your appointment, please pay for the time you use on the website. Contact us if there are any problems.

Can I play music?

We love music and know it makes shoots even better. We have provided a bluetooth speaker for your enjoyment.

Can I use the garage door?

We love the extra light when the garage door is open. If you would like it open, please contact us beforehand.
